Urine drug screens usually show substance abuse within the last 2-3 days or possibly the last month depending on which substance you are testing for, the amount of drug abused and the donor’s own metabolism.

Tests are available in a 5 Panel test and a 10 Panel test.

Urine drug testing can be performed by laboratory analysis, by Instant Test or by a combination of the two. 

Laboratory testing is the most accurate test available. Results for laboratory testing are normally reported in 24-48 hours. Laboratory tests include testing for adulterants and substituted specimens and GC/MS confirmation on all positive results. Asure Test can provide collection training information for your staff, setup on-site by one of collectors at your facility or setup collection sites for your company nation wide.

While dozens of Instant Results urine drug tests are available, Asure Test only recommends an FDA approved test which also tests for adulterants. Results are available within 7-10 minutes. If you don’t test the urine sample for adulterants you could be getting false negative results because the donor adulterated or substituted the specimen. Asure Test can provide collection training information for your staff or setup for collections to be performed in our office or on-site by one of our collectors at your facility.

Many employers prefer to use the Instant Result test initially and if a positive result appears, then they can send the specimen out for laboratory confirmation testing. Call our office for more details.
